Obgon Releases First EP, “Overtake”

Philipp Gorbachev’s label PG Tune releases “Overtake,” by Obgon.

Moscow-based producer Andrew Lee – of Stoned Boys, Interchain and one of the founders of Incompetence Records – premieres his solo project Obgon on the label PG Tune, run by Philipp Gorbachev. “Overtake” is an uncompromising three-track EP of raw and heavy club bangers. The release is an ode to the rhythms and sounds of big city which never sleeps. The vinyl will be accompanied with a downloadable set of samples that have been recorded on the Moscow streets. “Instead of a drum-machine and synthesizers, Obgon offers you a unique collection of industrial city sounds,” according to the press release. The dancefloor beats of Obgon’s first release are one of the best presentations of the unending traffic and energy of the Russian metropolis.
