The Gogova Foundation is accepting applications from artists for their Baku Residency program. Applicants must be under 35 years of age and based in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Central Asia or the Middle East. While providing young artists with the time and space to create new work, the residency program aims to promote professional dialogue and the exchange of ideas.
Art projects are chosen by the foundation’s expert council, comprised of leading experts on contemporary art. Selected artists will reside in Baku’s Old City during the residency, a period of one or two months, depending on the project. Program conditions and bursary details can be found on the Gogova Foundation website.
The Gogova Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art and Culture is a non-profit organization founded by Mariana Guber-Gogova in 2016. By exhibiting young artists in unconventional spaces, the foundation hopes to raise their profile at home and abroad – bringing together artists, critics and curators.
In September 2016 their program was launched with an exhibition of works by Olya Kroytor at the Kasteyev Museum in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The following month, they opened an exhibition at the Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Nizhny Arkhyz, North Caucasus.
